Bitcoin ETF Issuer Franklin Templeton Bullish On Solana (SOL), Foresees It As 3rd Largest Crypto

In the wake of the November 2022 crypto market crash, which saw the bankruptcy and collapse of FTX and other firms, Solana (SOL) has emerged as a standout performer, experiencing a year-to-date price increase of over 560%.

With a market capitalization of $67 billion, Solana has secured its place as the fifth largest cryptocurrency, trailing only Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Binance Coin (BNB), and Tether’s USDT stablecoin.

Despite its substantial growth, asset management giant and Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) issuer Franklin Templeton anticipates further expansion for Solana as the emerging bull market takes shape.

Solana Poised For Continued Growth

A recent report released by the firm highlights Solana’s strong position to capture the next wave of crypto adoption, solidifying itself as a major crypto asset alongside Bitcoin and Ethereum.

The report emphasizes that Solana’s growth will continue due to several key factors. Notably, the crypto industry witnessed accelerated activity during Q4 2023, with Solana as a focal point for major airdrops within its ecosystem, such as Jito and Pyth.

According to the report, these airdrops generated a wealth effect of over a billion dollars, driving up the value of SOL and other Solana ecosystem tokens, particularly meme coins. This surge occurred concurrently with Bitcoin’s upward trend, providing additional momentum to the Solana ecosystem.

Since then, meme coins have gained significant attention, with a substantial portion of activity occurring on Solana. The network has witnessed the creation and trading of numerous meme coins, with some attaining multi-billion-dollar market caps, including Bonk (BONK) and Dogwifhat (WIF).

The Crypto Industry’s Next Big Breakthrough?

According to the asset manager, Solana has demonstrated significant growth over the past year, which is evident in the network’s increased total fees and decentralized exchange (DEX) volumes. The network’s low fees, transaction latency, and high data throughput relative to other networks have contributed to its success.

Solana’s network effects are expected to strengthen further as its performance improves, positioning it to capture upcoming trends in the crypto space.

The future remains uncertain as crypto enthusiasts ponder the next big thing in the industry. However, Franklin Templeton suggests that there is a strong possibility that Solana could play a pivotal role.

According to the report, the Solana ecosystem anticipates additional airdrops in the coming months, which will continue to enhance the ecosystem’s wealth effect.

Moreover, meme coin activity shows no signs of slowing down on the Solana network, further adding to the bullish sentiment surrounding the cryptocurrency and its ecosystem.

Solana Price Jumps 7% On Bitcoin And Ethereum ETF Approvals, Network Congestion Update

Solana’s price saw a notable recovery on Monday after a steep decline over the past seven days. This was supported by positive developments in the Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) markets, which came alongside the approval of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for both cryptocurrencies in Hong Kong.

Additionally, Solana addressed its ongoing network congestion issues with a new update, aiming to rectify transaction failures and outages.

New Update Tackling Implementation Bug

According to Mert Mumtaz, CEO of Helius Labs, Solana’s recent network congestion issues were attributed to an implementation bug rather than a fundamental design flaw. Mumtaz clarified that Solana’s current predicament results from a flaw in implementing a specific protocol.

According to Anza, a spin-off of Solana Labs, Solana has released a new update to its validator client software to combat this. The update, v1.17.31, aims to reduce network congestion and will be followed by further improvements in v1.18.

Anza emphasized the update’s significance, urging MainnetBeta validators to adopt it. The enhancements introduced in the update are expected to mitigate Solana’s ongoing network congestion issues.

Furthermore, validators were advised to upgrade their systems when there is less than 5% delinquent stake, ensuring they have sufficient time to monitor the node after the upgrade.

Any issues encountered during the upgrade were to be reported to mb-validators. Solana Status, a trusted source, corroborated the announcement, recommending the v1.17.31 release for general use.

Trent.sol, Solana’s developer and operations manager, emphasized that the effectiveness of the update would be proportional to its adoption across the network.

While the improvements primarily target Solana’s Stake Weighted Quality of Service (SWQOS) and may not result in significant changes to the reliability of unstacked Tensor processing units (TPU) traffic, Solana users were advised to keep delinquency below 5% during the upgrade process.

Furthermore, Anza hinted at additional enhancements in the pipeline, urging users to stay tuned for further updates.

Solana Price Rebounds With 7% Surge

After unveiling updates to enhance network efficiency, the Solana price has surged by over 7%. This surge has helped offset the ongoing downtrend experienced by Solana, which amounted to nearly 21% over the past month.

In addition, the Hong Kong SFC has officially approved several spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, including asset managers such as China Asset Management, Bosera Capital, HashKey Capital Limited, and an in-principle approval for Harvest Global Investments.

This regulatory approval has not only positively impacted the prices of Bitcoin and Ethereum but has also instilled a sense of positivity in the overall cryptocurrency market. As a result, the top 10 cryptocurrencies have witnessed significant uptrends, riding on the wave of these developments.

Despite the recent surge in Solana’s price, SOL’s trading volume has decreased by -44.70% in the last 24 hours, indicating a recent decline in market activity, according to CoinGecko data

Solana’s current trading price of $151.40 presents the first obstacle in the cryptocurrency’s path toward further price gains. If this hurdle is surpassed, the next significant resistance lies at $170, which would signify a recovery of SOL’s gains recorded over the past month.

On the other hand, the $130 mark has proven to be a strong support level for Solana, representing the foundation of SOL’s one-month bullish structure, which propelled its price rally to nearly three-year highs of $210 on March 18.

Solana DEXs Outperform Ethereum In Key Metric, Here’s What This Means

Recent data shows that Solana-based decentralized exchanges (DEXs) have taken Ethereum’s spot in a key metric, creating expectations and positive sentiment for the Solana (SOL) ecosystem.

Solana DEXs Outperform Ethereum

According to data from DeFiLlama, Solana-based decentralized exchanges (DEXs) have flipped Ethereum in daily trading volume. Over the last 24 hours, Solana’s $1.14 billion trading volume surpasses Ethereum DEX’s $1.133 billion trading volume.

This accomplishment occurred for the first time in December of 2023 when Solana’s daily DEX volume reached $1.475 billion, surpassing Ethereum’s $1.164 billion, and hit a growing interest by traders in the SOL ecosystem.

Solana also saw a weekly change of +37.67% in its trading volume. However, the data shows that Ethereum is still above Solana in the 7-day volume metric, with $7.852 billion and $ 6.113 billion, respectively.

Additionally, data from CoinGecko shows that Solana-based DEXs Jupiter and Orca are among the 3 largest decentralized exchanges by volume in the last 24 hours. As the chart below displays, Jupiter has a daily volume of $ 614 million, while Orca shows a volume of $380 million, occupying the second and third spots, respectively.

Ethereum’s Uniswap V3 topped the chart with a daily volume of $636 million. The data also shows Raydium among the top 10 DEXs by volume in the last 24 hours.

Research platform SoSo Value pointed out on X (formerly known as Twitter) the recent Jupiter’s rise in popularity and monthly users’ increase as a key contributor to the Solana ecosystem’s boost in activity, bringing considerable attention and trading activity into the ecosystem.

These recent achievements hint at a healthy growth and development of Solana’s DeFi ecosystem.

Solana’s Price Action

The surge in interest in Solana has been driven by its meme coin sector, the airdrops, and fast transactions offered to its users. As a result, its native token managed to reclaim previously lost territory.

However, while Solana surpassed Ethereum’s DEX on low timeframes, the second crypto by market cap remains king of the DeFi sector. The chart above shows that the Ethereum-based DEX holds over $6 billion in Total Value Locked (TVL).

This piece of data indicates the resilience of the ETH ecosystem in maintaining its position as king of DeFi but holds promise for Solana. The fast-growing blockchain could attract further attention and interest if the daily trend extends.

Despite some fluctuation in the last few weeks, Solana’s price has surfaced in the $90-$100 price range in the last month. According to CoinGecko data, SOL’s price has surged 1.9% in the last 24 hours and 6.3% in the previous 7 days.

Solana Unveils Token Extensions As SOL Bounces Back, Surging 5%

The Solana Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to decentralization, adoption, and security on the Solana network, has launched token extensions.

Solana Token Extensions Gains Traction

According to a January 24 announcement, token extensions provide developers, enterprises, financial institutions, and Solana-native development teams with a comprehensive suite of turnkey solutions for advanced token functionality. Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana and CEO of Solana Labs, commented on the launch, stating:

Token extensions build on the characteristics that make Solana the ideal destination for developers. Solana is the first network to offer this level of integrated developer and user experience in a single token program. We’re already seeing the potential to build using token extensions via deployments from some of the most recognizable names in crypto.

Industry giants Paxos and GMO-Z.com Trust Company Inc. (GMO Trust) are leading the way in adopting token extensions. As announced by the Solana Foundation, these companies are “leveraging the benefits” of token extensions to issue stablecoins on the Solana blockchain.

As previously reported, Paxos, a regulated blockchain and tokenization infrastructure platform, expanded its stablecoin issuance to the network in December. Similarly, GMO Trust announced the launch of the first regulated Japanese yen stablecoin and their own US dollar stablecoin on the Solana network.

New Standards For Blockchain Compliance?

Sheraz Shere, Head of Payments at the Solana Foundation, emphasized the appeal of the Solana network for enterprise-grade companies entering the web3 space. Shere stated:

Companies like Visa, Worldpay, Stripe, Google, and Shopify have already seen the performance advantages inherent to the Solana network and have launched solutions and applications that are only possible on Solana. With token extensions, we are expanding what is possible for enterprise adoption of blockchain by natively enabling features that matter to large regulated enterprises.

Token extensions, designed to cater to builders across diverse industries such as stablecoins, real-world assets (RWA), and payments, offer a range of interesting features:

  • Transfer Hooks: Enables token issuers to exert control over token interactions, empowering developers to create intricate and flexible token mechanisms.
  • Transfer Fees: Provides the ability to charge fees for each token transfer, offering sustainable revenue models for different types of tokens built using token extensions.
  • Confidential Transfers: Utilizes zero-knowledge proofs to encrypt the transfer amount while publicly sharing the source, destination, and token type. This ensures compliance while preserving privacy.
  • Permanent Delegate Authority: Grants token issuers absolute authority over their tokens, particularly for those requiring revocation ability, such as licenses or credentials.
  • Non-transferability: Restricts token transfers to the issuer only, making it ideal for unique user identification and credentialing purposes.

Ultimately, with the launch of token extensions, Solana aims to position itself as a force in blockchain development, offering builders the tools to create new applications across various industries.

Solana

The SOL token experienced a sharp drop of over 28% in the past 30 days, leading to a decline to the $79 level. However, the token has recovered in the past 24 hours with a 5% bounce, leading to a current trading price of $87.

Massive Solana Heist: CLINKSINK Drainer Campaigns Swipe Nearly $1M Worth Of SOL

In a recent report released by Mandiant, a threat intelligence and cybersecurity company, alarming details have emerged about the widespread exploitation of Solana users through a campaign known as CLINKSINK.

The report sheds light on the nature of these drainer campaigns, which have resulted in the loss of nearly $1 million worth of SOL tokens.

CLINKSINK Campaign Targets Solana Investors

According to the report, The CLINKSINK campaign, identified by Mandiant, involves malicious actors leveraging drainers – malicious scripts and smart contracts – to steal funds and digital assets, including non-fungible tokens (NFTs), from unsuspecting victims’ cryptocurrency wallets.

These campaigns have been active since December 2023 and have employed at least 35 affiliate IDs associated with a drainer-as-a-service (DaaS) utilizing CLINKSINK.

The modus operandi of the CLINKSINK campaign involves distributing cryptocurrency-themed phishing pages through social media platforms like X and chat applications like Discord.

These pages, masquerading as legitimate cryptocurrency resources like Phantom, DappRadar, and BONK, entice victims to interact with the CLINKSINK drainer. Once victims connect their wallets to claim an alleged token airdrop, they are prompted to sign a transaction that allows the drainer service to siphon funds from their wallets.

Solana

Mandiant’s investigation revealed that the stolen funds are divided between the affiliate and the service operator(s) based on a predetermined percentage.

The analysis indicates that, on average, 80% of the stolen funds go to the affiliate, while the remaining 20% go to the operator(s). However, the operator’s cut can vary between 5% and 25%, potentially influenced by factors such as partnerships or reduced fees for successful affiliates.

Since the end of December 2023, at least 1,491 SOL tokens and numerous underlying tokens, with a combined value of over $180,000, were traced to a specific Solana address associated with the DaaS operator.

Based on this data, Mandiant estimates that these recent campaigns have stolen at least $900,000 in digital assets. However, it is important to note that some of the funds sent to the operator’s wallet might originate from their drainer campaigns or transfers not subject to the percentage split.

Mandiant Warns Of Growing Trend

Mandiant’s report also highlights the availability and low cost of CLINKSINK drainers in underground forums, indicating a growing trend of financially motivated threat actors targeting cryptocurrency users and services.

The rising value of Solana’s native cryptocurrency, SOL, has likely contributed to the surge in CLINKSINK activity. Furthermore, the CLINKSINK source code’s apparent leakage could enable unrelated threat actors to conduct independent draining operations or establish their own DaaS offerings.

As the value of cryptocurrencies continues to rise, Mandiant predicts an increase in financially motivated threat actors conducting drainer operations.

The ease of access and potential profitability of these campaigns make them an attractive prospect for cybercriminals of varying levels of sophistication.

Cryptocurrency users and investors are urged to exercise caution and employ robust security measures to protect their digital assets. Increased awareness and vigilance within the cryptocurrency community will be crucial in mitigating the risks posed by the CLINKSINK drainer and similar threats.

Solana Poised For Major Upside: Analyst Predicts 47% Surge After Price Breakout

With the recent approval of Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) injecting new inflows and igniting a sense of bullish sentiment in the market, Solana (SOL) is emerging as one of the top gainers in the past 24 hours.

The cryptocurrency has experienced a 4.5% surge, trading at $99, aiming to reclaim the significant $100 milestone lost during a recent deep correction.

Solana Bulls Targeting $150-$165 Price Range

Solana, holding the fifth position among cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, could undergo a substantial price surge if the current upward momentum continues and successfully breaks out of its downtrend correction.

Renowned crypto analyst Ali Martinez suggests that Solana is breaking out from a bullish flag pattern formed on the 4-hour chart.

Solana

A sustained close above the $106 mark can trigger a remarkable 47% rally, propelling SOL towards the price range of $150 to $165.

However, at the time of writing, Solana has retraced below the upper boundary of the bull flag formation, which is positioned at $103.

Nevertheless, a breakout could be imminent if the growing interest in the token persists alongside a sustained bullish momentum. This scenario would position SOL to regain its previously lost highs and set its course toward Ali Martinez’s price targets within $150 to $165.

SOL Market Cap Quadruples, DeFi, And NFT Metrics Skyrocket

Solana has showcased remarkable performance during the fourth quarter of 2023, positioning itself as a leader in the crypto market rally, according to a recent report by Messari.

One of the key achievements for Solana in Q4 was its notable increase in market capitalization. SOL concluded the year with a market cap of $43.8 billion, marking a staggering 423% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) growth and an astonishing 1,106% year-on-year (YoY) increase.

Solana

This growth propelled SOL to surpass notable tokens such as ADA, USDC, and XRP in market cap, securing the 5th position among all tokens. It is worth noting that Solana began 2023 ranked 17th in market capitalization, highlighting its exponential rise in prominence.

The Solana network’s decentralized finance (DeFi) Total Value Locked (TVL) also experienced significant growth. Solana’s DeFi TVL increased by 303% QoQ and an impressive 505% YoY, reaching $1.5 billion.

The report also highlights the notable increase in DeFi volume on the Solana network. The average daily spot DEX volume experienced a staggering 1,116% QoQ growth, reaching $359 million.

Among the contributors to this growth, Orca accounted for 45% of the Q4 volumes, followed by Raydium with a 29% market share. Phoenix, a fully on-chain central limit order book, stood out by averaging over 9% of the DEX volume market share.

Solana’s influence in the NFT space also saw substantial growth during Q4. The average daily NFT volume increased by 356% QoQ, reaching $4.8 million. Solana’s market share of NFT volume, excluding Bitcoin, grew from 9% to 26% QoQ, demonstrating its increasing significance in the NFT market.

Epic Rally Alert: Solana Hourly Chart Reveals Bull Flag Formation, SOL Targets $163

Solana (SOL), the fifth largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, has experienced a significant surge after undergoing a correction from its 20-month high of $125, reached on December 25.

Following a dip to the $85 level on Monday, January 8, SOL reclaimed the $100 level again, demonstrating a 6.4% surge in the past 24 hours.

Moreover, technical analysis indicates a potential bullish continuation pattern known as a bull flag in Solana’s 1-hour chart, which suggests the possibility of further price gains beyond the previous high.

Solana Optimism For Price Breakout

Technical analyst Ali Martinez has identified a bullish pattern known as a bull flag formation on Solana’s hourly chart. A bull flag is characterized by a consolidation period following a strong upward move.

In this case, the dip to the $85 level could be considered the consolidation phase. The formation suggests that SOL may experience another significant upward move shortly.

Solana

As seen in the chart above, to confirm the validity of the bull flag pattern, SOL needs to achieve a decisive close above the $110 resistance level. Such a breakthrough could catalyze upward momentum and propel the price to new highs.

If the bull flag pattern holds, Ali Martinez anticipates that SOL could aim for an ambitious target of $163. However, Solana faces multiple resistance levels that it must overcome to reach the potential target indicated in Ali Martinez’s hourly chart analysis.

The $110 resistance, the $120 mark, and the previous 20-month high of $125 present significant hurdles for Solana’s price action. These levels have the potential to impede further upward movement, as they have previously acted as resistance during the bear market of 2022.

Additionally, the $132 and $137 levels are anticipated to provide additional resistance, as they were the price points from which Solana’s price decreased in April 2022.

Lastly, the $151 and $154 levels will serve as the final thresholds for Solana’s bears to hold if they aim to halt any potential price increase before reaching the $163 target.

Solana’s Ecosystem Consistent Growth

Despite the volatility in SOL’s price over the past month, Token Terminal data reveals consistent growth in Solana’s blockchain ecosystem.

According to the data, Solana’s circulating market cap has surged impressively to $43.54 billion, representing a substantial 20.08% increase in value over the last 30 days.

Moreover, the fully diluted market cap has surged to $57.13 billion, reflecting an 18.82% growth, which illustrates a strong investor interest in Solana and its potential for future growth.

Solana’s revenue has also experienced substantial growth over the past 30 days, with a staggering increase of 217.18% to reach $5.68 million. On an annual basis, the revenue has reached an impressive $69.12 million, exhibiting a remarkable surge of 142.15%.

Ultimately, Solana’s fees have significantly increased over the past 30 days, with an increase of 217.18% to $11.36 million. On an annualized basis, the fees amount to $138.24 million, marking a substantial growth of 142.15%, reflecting the network’s growing usage and transactional activity.

Solana Users Face Mounting Threat As Drainer Attacks Surge, SOL Price Plummets 13%

As the price of Solana (SOL) has skyrocketed by an astounding 722% year-to-date, the network’s rapid growth has attracted both attention and challenges.

Not only has the native token gained significant value, but the use of Solana-based meme coins such as Bonk Inu (BONK), which has grown over 854% year-to-date, and decentralized applications (dApps) have skyrocketed. Unfortunately, this increased popularity has led to increased attacks against the so-called “Ethereum Killer.”

Malicious Solana dApps Exploited

Web3 security firm Blockaid has recently observed a concerning trend of users falling victim to attacks by Solana-based drainers.

One notable example is the website lessfeesndgas[.]org, which succeeded in stealing tokens from the Solana Program Library (SPL), which is designed to support the creation and management of tokens on Solana and SOL worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Interestingly, according to the company’s post on X (formerly Twitter), Blockaid’s secure wallets remained immune to these attacks from the moment the site went live, preventing any connections from being made.

Solana

The sophistication of these drainers is noteworthy, according to the firm, as they can fool the simulations used by Solana wallets, causing users to sign malicious transactions unknowingly. Web3 security firm Blockaid further stated:

As Solana continues to gain popularity, drainer groups are increasingly moving towards it, as indicated by the growing number of malicious Solana dApps detected by Blockaid.

Solana’s rapid ascent as a high-performance blockchain platform has drawn admiration and scrutiny. Its ability to process transactions quickly and at a lower cost than Ethereum has positioned it as a strong competitor.

However, the network’s success has also made it an attractive target for malicious actors seeking to exploit vulnerabilities and capitalize on its growing user base.

Still, this is not the only bad news for Solana in the past few hours, as its native token has been experiencing a continuous sharp drop in price, leading to the belief that its uptrend and bull run may be over despite the possibility of a rebound in the overall crypto market.

Stablecoin Surge And NFT Sales Fail To Prevent SOL’s Price Drop

In just five hours, the price of SOL experienced a significant 13% drop, hitting a low of $85 on Wednesday. This decline occurred despite notable growth in stablecoin transfers, which saw a rise of over 45% this week.

Solana

Additionally, on Tuesday, SOL surpassed Ethereum in monthly trading volume for non-fungible token (NFT) sales, marking a milestone for the network.

SOL is the fifth-largest cryptocurrency, boasting a market capitalization of $42.6 billion. It holds a $12 billion lead over XRP and trails just behind Binance Coin (BNB) by a mere $6 billion.

The trajectory of SOL’s price remains uncertain as investors await signs of a potential bullish momentum resurgence.

Building a more secure framework for decentralized applications (dApps) could be pivotal in restoring investor confidence and attracting additional capital to the ecosystem, potentially propelling SOL to reclaim its one-year high of $126, previously achieved on December 25.

Solana Saga Orders Scrapped As $30 Million BONK Token Package Overshadows Device’s Value

Solana (SOL) and its associated meme coin, Bonk (BONK), have witnessed remarkable surges in value, with SOL recording gains of over 71% and Bonk experiencing an astonishing 342% increase over the past 30 days.

The positive growth within the Solana ecosystem has resulted in a surge in demand for the flagship mobile device, Solana Saga. However, the Solana Mobile team recently addressed challenges in meeting the “overwhelming demand” and explained order cancellations and inventory management issues.

Solana Mobile Faces Inventory Mishap

Over the past month, SOL has seen a significant uptrend, inching closer to the $100 mark, a level not reached since April 2022. Additionally, Bonk has experienced an extraordinary surge reaching a trading value of $0.00001896.

Solana

Given these developments and the social buzz within the blockchain and its mobile device, the Solana Mobile team confirmed that their limited inventory of 20,000 devices worldwide has sold out, with both the US and EU markets experiencing high demand.

According to a recent statement on X (formerly Twitter), in the process of fulfilling orders, the Solana Mobile team encountered an “inventory management issue” with their third-party distributor. This issue resulted in an inaccurate representation of the available inventory.

Consequently, the team was unable to fulfill orders placed after the inventory was depleted. Additionally, orders suspected of suspicious activity, such as excessive device orders or payment risks, were flagged and subsequently canceled.

According to the announcement, the objective behind these measures is to ensure that as many users as possible can enjoy the Solana Saga mobile device.

Customers affected by the order cancellations have been promptly notified, and they will receive refunds within the coming days.

Solana’s DEX Volume Overtakes Ethereum And Arbitrum

The Solana ecosystem, together with its native token SOL, has recently achieved significant milestones. Notably, Solana’s 24-hour decentralized exchange (DEX) volume has exceeded that of Ethereum (ETH) and Arbitrum (ARB) combined, surpassing the $2 billion mark.

Additionally, Solana has emerged as the third-largest altcoin (only behind BNB) by market capitalization. These achievements reflect the growing popularity and success of Solana within the cryptocurrency market.

According to Token Terminal data, SOL’s market cap (circulating) stands at $41.05 billion, reflecting a remarkable increase of 46.98%, flipping XRP’s market cap by over $7 billion.

The revenue generated has also witnessed substantial growth, with an 80.43% increase to $2.39 million. Furthermore, SOL’s fully diluted market cap has reached $54.31 billion, showcasing a significant rise of 45.60%.

The revenue generated on the Solana platform, when annualized, amounts to an impressive $29.13 million, signifying a substantial increase of 94.75%.

Examining SOL’s financial ratios, the price-to-fully diluted ratio stands at 796.78x, indicating the market’s high expectations for future growth. However, this ratio has experienced a recent decrease of 19.3%.

Solana-Based Aurory Suffers Devastating Exploit: 80% Of Liquidity Gone

Aurory (AURY), a blockchain-based tactical Japanese role-playing game built on Solana (SOL), recently experienced a significant liquidity loss in its Camelot’s AURY-USDC pool.

The incident occurred due to a hack on the SyncSpace bridge, which resulted in the unauthorized withdrawal and subsequent market sale of approximately 600,000 AURY tokens on the Arbitrum (ARB) network.

Aurory SyncSpace Bridge Hacked

In an official statement released on December 17, Aurory’s team disclosed the details of the incident. The team detected unusual activity on their marketplace and promptly initiated an investigation, which revealed that a malicious actor had exploited the marketplace’s buy endpoint.

This exploit allowed the attacker to inflate their AURY balance in SyncSpace, enabling them to withdraw around 600,000 tokens to the Arbitrum network. The attacker then liquidated the stolen amount by selling it in the market.

To protect user funds, SyncSpace was promptly disabled for maintenance, temporarily suspending deposits and withdrawals. Importantly, the statement assured that no user funds or non-fungible tokens (NFTs) were lost or at risk during the incident.

The AURY tokens originated from a team wallet, facilitating withdrawals for accounts not previously deposited AURY.

Exploit Mitigated

The Aurory statement emphasized that the exploit is no longer ongoing, as SyncSpace remains offline for maintenance. As a result, there is currently no risk of further exploits. Additionally, it was confirmed that the attacker has exhausted their AURY supply and no longer possesses any tokens to sell.

Moreover, SyncSpace will investigate further to determine how the exploit went undetected despite the previous expert audit.

The team also plans to release a comprehensive post-mortem report once the necessary fixes have been implemented and the investigation concludes. They expect SyncSpace to be back online in the coming days.

Since October 30, the price of Aurory’s token, AURY, has experienced a significant upward trend, culminating in a yearly high of $1.9008 on December 12. However, following the recent exploit, the price of AURY has retraced to $1.0868, marking a decline of 23.5% over the past 24 hours and 36.5% over the past seven days.

Despite this setback, AURY still boasts substantial gains of 74% and 70% over the 30-day and one-year periods, respectively.

Aurory

The market now awaits to see whether the token’s support lines at $0.9681 and $0.9086 will be able to halt the potential continuation of the price drop or if they will succumb to the prevailing downtrend, putting a significant portion of its 2023 gains at risk.

Solana’s BONK Token Rockets To New Heights, Surging 121% On Binance Listing News

In an unexpected turn of events, the Solana-based memecoin Bonk (BONK) has experienced an extraordinary 1,000% monthly surge following its recent listings on major cryptocurrency exchanges.

The momentum began with Coinbase’s listing, followed closely by Binance’s surprise announcement, propelling BONK to new heights and generating enthusiasm within the crypto community.

Astounding 1,000% Surge On Binance And Coinbase Listings

The listing on Binance proved to be a game-changer for BONK, as its price skyrocketed above $0.00003, marking an astounding increase of over 1,000% in just one month. The frenzy surrounding the memecoin became evident when a trader sold 52.3 billion BONK tokens, equivalent to approximately $927,000, and realized a staggering profit of around $784,000.

According to Lookonchain, this trader had purchased 69 billion BONK at a price of approximately $0.0000021 and staked them from October 30 to November 29, reaping substantial returns from the meteoric rise of BONK.

Beyond the price surge, another noteworthy development has captured the attention of investors. The Solana community has witnessed a surge in the sales of Solana phones, driven by the recent price hike of Solana’s memecoin.

Raj Gokal, the co-founder of Solana, shared in a December 15 post on X that Solana phone sales have increased by over 10 times within the past 48 hours and are now projected to sell out before the new year. Gokal stated:

Just so everyone is aware, Solana mobile saga sales have >10x’d in the past 48 hours, and are now on track to sell out before the new year.

Moreover, Richard Wu, co-founder of Tensor, Solana’s non-fungible token marketplace, expressed his astonishment, stating: “This is crazy. BONK saved Solana on Christmas 2022. BONK is saving the Solana Saga Phone on Christmas 2023.”

Wu emphasized that, unlike other dog coins, Bonk has emerged as the savior of Solana, a battle-tested high-throughput Layer 1 blockchain. He further added, “It’s not just a meme anymore. This is religion.”

BONK Memecoin’s Impressive Surge Paired With Solana’s Growth

Based on the 1-hour chart for BONK, the memecoin has consistently reached new highs since the start of the current bull run on November 8.

Notably, the token has surpassed significant moving averages, including the 200-day and 50-day MA. This is a positive indicator of the token’s potential, as there are currently no visible resistance levels unless a correction occurs.

It is worth noting that SOL has experienced a remarkable 443% uptrend year-to-date, along with significant ecosystem growth in recent months. This, combined with the ongoing memecoin frenzy, suggests that there may be no limits or boundaries for BONK’s upward trajectory.

BONK

Following the announcement of Binance’s listing, the token experienced a surge of 121%, which has been further complemented by gains observed in the past 24 hours. However, BONK’s current price stands at $0.00002888, representing a shortfall of over 30% from its recent highs.

The extent of BONK’s potential and the future patterns it will exhibit in its various time frames remain to be seen. These developments will provide further insights into the token’s future growth potential or possible corrections. However, the overall outlook for BONK appears promising for investors.

Solana Ascending Triangle Formation Anticipates Price Surge, $90 Target In Sight

Since October 2023, Solana (SOL), often called the Ethereum killer, has seen significant network and price action growth.

However, everything points out that the most notable growth in recent months has been in SOL’s price, which has surged over 368% year-to-date, taking the token from a low of $7.95 in 2022 to a now staggering $64.20, with an annual high of $68.

But are these numbers reflective of fundamental growth, or are there discrepancies between price action and network progress?

Growth In Network And Price Action Fuel Optimism

According to Ally Zach, a research analyst at Messari, SOL has experienced significant growth since its December 2022 lows. The price of SOL has increased by over six times, while active addresses and Total Value Locked (TVL) have doubled.

Initially positioned as a decentralized finance (DeFi) hub, Solana has diversified over time, introducing new infrastructure and tools, such as compressed non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which have led to the emergence of new consumer applications on the platform.

According to Zach’s latest report, throughout most of 2023, consumer apps served as the primary entry point for first-time users on Solana. However, early November’s “breakpoint event” reignited Solana’s DeFi sector.

A series of airdrop announcements for major projects in the ecosystem, particularly the airdrop by JupiterExchange, propelled the DeFi sector to the forefront. These airdrops, coupled with new token launches, have boosted market caps and decentralized exchange (DEX) TVL, attracting users through the trading potential of these tokens.

Notably, Solana’s new DEX users exhibit different behavioral patterns compared to airdrop farmers on other networks. Instead of high-frequency, low-volume transactions involving stablecoins, these users actively trade small and mid-cap tokens and spend more per swap.

This suggests a more sustained and engaged user base, moving away from transient farming practices. DEXs play a crucial role in the decentralized finance ecosystem, deriving strength from the diversity and robustness of the surrounding apps and tokens.

Ally Zach’s analysis suggests that Solana’s newest user base, including newcomers and veterans, is shifting away from typical airdrop farming behaviors.

This shift indicates the potential for these users to become long-term contributors, strengthening the sustainability of the Solana ecosystem.

Potential Solana Rally To $90 On The Horizon

In addition to the potential long-term growth of the Solana network, the price of SOL is not far behind. Prominent crypto analyst Ali Martinez has identified an intriguing price pattern for SOL that indicates the potential for further gains soon.

Martinez highlights an ascending triangle formation on the 12-hour chart of SOL, suggesting a continuation pattern that typically precedes upward price movements.

Solana

The ascending triangle formation implies that SOL’s price has been consolidating within a tightening range, with higher lows and a resistance level of around $68.2. If SOL manages to sustain a close above this critical level, it could trigger a bullish breakout, potentially propelling the price toward the $90 mark.

However, Martinez advises caution and emphasizes the importance of monitoring the $60 support level. Any signs of weakness or a breach of this level may trigger a spike in profit-taking by traders, potentially leading to a temporary price decline. In such a scenario, SOL could experience a dip, potentially reaching as low as $47.

Solana-Powered Helium (HNT) Spikes By 145%, Analyzing The Drivers Of The Surge

Helium (HNT), a decentralized network launched in 2019, has experienced significant gains across multiple timeframes, making it one of the top performers in the cryptocurrency market. This price surge comes alongside Solana’s (SOL) remarkable 56% increase over the past 30 days and other protocols built on Solana’s network.

HNT has achieved staggering gains over the past 30 days, surpassing 147%. This remarkable growth has continued with gains of 101% and 45% over the past fourteen and seven days, respectively.

In the 24-hour time frame alone, HNT reached a high of $5.008 and experienced a remarkable surge of 53%, a level not seen since October 2022. But what are the main catalysts behind this spike?

Helium’s Mobile Service Launch Ignites HNT Investor Frenzy

The recent surge in HNT’s price can be attributed to the announcement made by the Helium network on December 5. The network revealed that users across the United States can now enjoy unlimited data, voice, and text services for a monthly fee of $20 through their newly launched mobile service.

According to recent reports, Helium Mobile, a subsidiary of Nova Labs, introduced this no-contract nationwide mobile service, aiming to provide consumers with an affordable and unrestricted mobile experience.

This move comes when major carriers have been imposing data limits, increasing contract obligations, and raising prices, making Helium’s offering particularly appealing to users seeking more flexible and cost-effective options.

By offering unlimited data, voice, and text services for a flat fee of $20 per month, Helium Mobile aims to address the growing demand for affordable and unrestricted mobile connectivity.

According to the announcement, the company aims to empower customers by putting control back into their hands, challenging the practices of traditional carriers.

CEO Amir Haleem Calls For Transparency In Mobile Industry

Amir Haleem, CEO of Nova Labs, emphasized the company’s belief that cell phones are essential and that unlimited data, text, and calls should be standard offerings.

Haleem criticized carriers for concealing high subscription rates, roaming fees, and additional data charges behind seemingly attractive phone upgrade options that often lock customers into costly plans for extended periods.

In addition to its mobile service, Helium Mobile supports a people-powered coverage model, allowing customers to become network owners and operators. Like platforms like Airbnb or Uber, the company believes that “reducing monopolies” and empowering customers can improve service quality, lower costs, and overall benefits for all stakeholders.

As the demand for reliable and affordable mobile services grows, Helium’s approach has positioned it as a key player in the industry. This announcement has propelled HNT’s price upward as investors recognize the potential of Helium’s approach in the mobile service sector.

HNT

The trading price of HNT stands at $4.153, marking a significant breakout from its downtrend structure of the past 11 months. The cryptocurrency is now targeting its next resistance level at $4.70.

However, should HNT fail to surpass this resistance, it will be crucial for the coin to maintain support at the $3.00 level to sustain its current bullish momentum.

Solana TVL Balloons To Over $600 Million – What This Means For SOL Price

A transformative wave is sweeping through the decentralized finance (DeFi) arena, as novel blockchain platforms disrupt the status quo. Standing tall among these challengers is Solana, celebrated for its exceptional throughput and scalability.

In a recent turn of events, Solana’s DeFi ecosystem has etched a momentous milestone, thrusting itself into the dynamic DeFi landscape.

The surge in Total Value Locked (TVL) to an impressive $655 million signals a watershed moment, underpinned by the escalating interest and unwavering confidence in Solana’s prowess within the DeFi sector.

Solana TVL Skyrockets: A Decisive Leap In The DeFi Landscape

This surge not only marks a numerical achievement but also underscores the burgeoning significance of Solana as a formidable player in the evolving narrative of decentralized finance.

As of October 1st, DefiLlama’s statistics showed that Solana’s Total Value Locked (TVL) was around $326 million. Nevertheless, further examination revealed a significant increase in TVL by the end of October.

The TVL has soared to over $655 million as of the most recent release, demonstrating an amazing doubling from the October data. It’s not quite at its historical apex, but this increase is the highest TVL in more than a year, indicating a strong and steady growth trend.

The most recent numbers indicate a significant growth of almost 200% from Solana’s January 1st $211 million TVL. Solana’s TVL had a sharp decline following the collapse of FTX, falling from just over $10 billion in November 2021 to a low of $210 million in January 2023.

With this increase, Solana is leading the way in the expansion of decentralized finance. SOL, in particular, beat out the competition and took back Avalanche’s (AVAX) seventh rank with $678.7 million locked up and put to use in its processes.

Solana’s Surge: Key Growth Factors

There are a number of important reasons that have contributed to Solana’s growth and revival. The demand for Solana-based products, such Ordinals’ “SolScriptions” and other meme coins, has spurred demand and increased token minting on the Solana network.

Active involvement in liquid staking protocols such as Jito and Marinade Finance has further enhanced the network’s appeal by drawing in new users and improving liquidity.

In addition, Solana’s network saw an increase in daily addresses; as of press time, there were 158,000 daily addresses. All of these measures point to increased network traffic.

Not only is Solana’s notable expansion in the DeFi area a testament to the platform’s success, but it also serves as a barometer of the dynamic blockchain environment. It signals a change in the direction of more effective, scalable technology, upending the dominance of established platforms.

According to statistics from cryptocurrency market price tracker Coingecko, SOL was trading at $61.94 at the time of writing, up 12% over the previous seven days.

As the TVL more than doubles in recent times, attention turns to the potential impact on SOL’s valuation. The dynamic interplay between Solana’s TVL milestones and its cryptocurrency’s price sets the stage for an intriguing narrative in the crypto landscape.

SOL Price Forecast Takes Bearish Turn, Prepare For Potential Plummet To $30 Or Lower

Solana (SOL) has emerged as a prominent player in the dynamic world of cryptocurrency, showcasing a remarkable uptrend and delivering substantial gains. Despite a modest 3.6% correction in SOL price over the past 24 hours, the native token of the blockchain platform has recorded a significant increase of 43% over the past fourteen-day period.

However, the sustainability of these gains may be in jeopardy, as the SOL price appears poised for a significant decline and deep correction following an impressive 346% surge over the past year.

SOL Price Vulnerable To Significant Drop, $30 In Sight

Crypto analyst Ali Martinez has shed light on the potential challenges ahead for SOL. Martinez highlights the TD Sequential indicator, which currently shows a sell signal on the weekly chart of SOL.

The TD Sequential indicator, developed by market technician Thomas DeMark, is a technical analysis tool to identify potential trend reversals or exhaustion points in price movements.

SOL price

The indicator consists of consecutive candlesticks that meet specific criteria based on the time and price movements. It looks for specific patterns in the price action, including the arrangement of consecutive highs and lows and the overall trend direction.

When the TD sequential indicator generates a sell signal, as seen on the SOL chart above, it indicates that the token is reaching a point of exhaustion in its uptrend, possibly indicating an impending correction or reversal.

According to Martinez, if the bearish formation depicted by the TD Sequential indicator is confirmed, market participants may witness a downward swing for SOL price, potentially pushing it towards $45 or even dipping as low as $30.

Solana Defies Correction Worries

Despite the potential for a price correction in the coming days or weeks, Solana has demonstrated impressive growth across various fundamental metrics, as revealed by data provided by Token Terminal.

When examining market capitalization, SOL’s circulating supply currently stands at $24.62 billion, denoting a remarkable increase of 138.78%. Furthermore, the fully diluted market cap is estimated at $32.77 billion, reflecting a substantial growth rate of 134.29%.

SOL’s revenue has also grown significantly, with a notable increase of 106.55% over the past 30 days, amounting to $1.26 million. Scaling these figures to an annualized revenue of $15.28 million represents a healthy growth rate of 43.10%.

Transaction fees have also played a key role in SOL’s revenue generation. Over the past 30 days, transaction fees increased by 106.55% to $2.51 million. This represents a growth rate of 43.10% when extrapolated to annualized fee revenue of $30.56 million.

Solana’s growing ecosystem is further evidenced by an increase in daily active users, which currently averages 128,180, reflecting a notable growth rate of 53.6% over the past 30 days.

Additionally, the platform has seen an average of 82.83 core developers actively contributing to its development, indicating a growth rate of 13.1%.

SOL Price Reaches $41, But What’s Happening In Solana Ecosystem?

Solana (SOL) has garnered significant attention in the cryptocurrency market, surpassing its peers with an impressive 79% upward trend over the past 30 days. As its price continues to soar, inquiries have arisen regarding the reaction of the Solana ecosystem to this surge.

About this subject, the Jarvis Labs team has offered intriguing insights into the ongoing SOL bull run and the condition of its ecosystem, addressing the factors influencing its growth.

Is The Solana Ecosystem Lagging Behind?

Despite SOL’s price surge, the Total Value Locked (TVL) on Solana has only doubled during this period, failing to match the fourfold increase in SOL’s token price. This disparity raises concerns about the growth and development of Solana’s ecosystem in 2023. A closer examination of the ecosystem reveals a significant lag compared to the rapid appreciation of SOL’s price.

Solana

The Jarvis Labs team highlights that a new wave of projects injects liquidity into Solana’s ecosystem, offering hope for its growth. Notably, these projects have been launched within the past year, leading to a diverse ecosystem rather than a concentration of similar offerings.

Among the top gainers in TVL, seven projects emerged recently, contributing to Solana’s expanding landscape.

Several projects have caught attention within Solana’s ecosystem, showcasing their potential to drive growth. Jito, a liquid staking provider, offers maximum extractable value (MEV) rewards alongside staking yields.

Marginfi, another noteworthy project, offers liquid staking tokens (LST) based on Jito’s platform, as well as a lending service emphasizing risk management. Additionally, decentralized exchanges like Phoenix and Jupiter have excelled in their respective niches.

Surprisingly, many successful projects within Solana’s ecosystem have yet to launch their tokens. This absence of tokens, according to Jarvis Labs, has contributed to “the lag in Solana’s TVL” despite the soaring token price.

Sustainable Token Design

The hesitance to introduce tokens stems from past experiences, where projects tied to now bankrupt crypto exchange FTX and its trading arm Alameda Research suffered significant losses, leaving a cautious sentiment among Solana developers, according to Jarvis Labs’s analysis.

The Jarvis Labs team believes that while tokens have the potential to be valuable assets, the cautionary tale of FTX-related projects highlights the importance of sustainable token design. Fair distribution, reasonable supply, and clear use cases are essential to creating tokens that add real value to the ecosystem.

Despite the challenges Solana’s ecosystem faces, the emergence of new projects and the forthcoming launch of tokens by some protocols offer hope for its future growth.

Ultimately, Jarvis Labs suggests that by embracing sustainable token designs and maintaining a focus on ecosystem development, Solana can unlock the full potential of its “thriving network.” The Jarvis Labs’ analysis concluded:

So, to all the Solana protocols out there: let’s make tokens great again. Let’s create tokens that are more than just a quick cash grab, tokens that contribute to the growth and sustainability of the ecosystem.

SOL’s price is approaching the $42 level, experiencing a notable surge of 3.7% within 24 hours.

Solana (SOL) Records Positive Moves As Bears Took Control, What’s Pushing It?

The crypto market witnessed heightened volatility last week, with most coins observing steep declines. However, today, June 27, the market has registered a slight recovery as most coins posted a few gains, but SOL’s gain is the most notable among all.

Solana’s native token, SOL, recorded over 3% price growth over the past 24 hours, while others, like Bitcoin, barely crossed 1%, given the significant increase. The Ethereum killer is now number 9 among the top-gaining coins today. However, considering the steep volatility index, whether SOL bulls can sustain today’s rally remains uncertain.

SOL Price Outlook

Solana saw bearish days in June after the SEC listed it among tokens labeled as securities in its lawsuit against Binance and Coinbase. SOL’s price nosedived, dropping over 41% between June 3 and June 16. The asset’s price consolidated between $15 and $19 until July.

However, SOL reached a monthly high of $29.31 on July 13 after news of Ripple’s win against the US SEC in the multi-year lawsuit circulated throughout the industry.

Although the bearish momentum observed in the last seven days snatched some gains from the asset, its 30-day price movement remains bullish, with over 52% price growth.

Solana has lost 2.33% of its market valuation over the past seven days before rebounding with notable gains today. On Thurdsay morning, SOL traded at $25.25, with a 3.71% 24-hour price increase.

SOL-Based Investment Funds Skyrockets Following Heightened Regulatory Optimism

SOL’s trading volume has increased in the last 24 hours. On July 26, SOL recorded a 57.07% increase in trading volume. This growth in trading activity suggests increased interest in SOL and SOL-related products.

Following Ripple’s partial victory in the SEC’s securities lawsuit, Solana-based investment products have received massive attention from investors. According to CCData’s digital asset management review, Solana-based investment funds’ assets under management (AUM) increased in July.

The report showed that most of the boost happened on July 14, a day after Judge Torres ruled that XRP token sales on the secondary market are not investment contracts. Judge Torres’ ruling acted as a point of reference to other assets, including SOL, marked as securities by the SEC.

CCData’s report stated that the AUM for SOL-based investment products increased by 55.7% to $87.8 million in July. This observation could be attributed to SOL’s impressive performance over the past month.

Solana DeFi Activity On Bullish Recovery

Regulatory uncertainty and the FTX fiasco affected the sentiment around Solana-based dApps, dipping further into the Solana DeFi ecosystem.

DeFi Llama data shows that Solana’s total value Locked (TVL) crumbled from a peak of $9.66 billion in November 2021 to less than $300 million in 2023. But with the partial resolution and the heightened optimism for a clearer regulatory atmosphere, Solana DeFi’s activities have improved.

As of July 14, SOL TVL hit a yearly peak of approximately $1.1 billion before retracing to $313.9 million. A close look at the chart shows SOL TVL has witnessed a slight increase and now stands at $316 million.

Chances that SOL will see a more bullish rebound following a total resolution of ongoing regulatory issues are high.

Solana Nears 100 Billion Transaction Milestone As Price Aims For $40

Solana has made a name for itself in the decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible token (NFT) space over the last few years. Its growth has seen it become one of the largest contenders for the leading smart contract network Ethereum, as it presents faster and cheaper transaction options. Its transaction count had quickly multiplied in light of this, and now, the cryptocurrency has neared another important milestone.

Almost 100 Billion Transactions

With only two years of operations under its belt, Solana has quickly grown in prominence among crypto investors. With an average of 3,000 transactions per second (TPS), the total transaction count on the Solana blockchain is like a runner on steroids.

Presently, the total transaction count on the network has surpassed 97.1 billion. This was the count as of Friday when this report was written. Given that the number was around 96 billion on Thursday, Solana’s transaction count is growing at around 1 billion per day. This rate would see the network hit the 100 billion mark before the weekend is over.

To put this in perspective, the current daily transaction count on the Ethereum network is a little over 1 million at 13 TPS. The upgrade to ETH proof of stake will reportedly allow Ethereum to process 100,000 TPS, but for now, it continues to lag behind competitors such as Solana in terms of speed and capacity.

Solana Looks To Grow Further

Over the last day, digital assets across the cryptocurrency market have seen some impressive gains. Solana grew more than 7% in this 24-hour period to bring its price above $35, but even this point does not look to be the highest for the cryptocurrency.

Since SOL is now sitting above its 20-day moving average, the selling pressure in the short term has begun to ease up, giving the digital asset room to establish support at $35 and target the $40 level from this point.

SOL breaks above $35 | Source: SOLUSD on TradingView.com

Solana’s growth in other aspects besides its transaction count is also working to prop up its price. Most notably, the growth of NFT trading on the blockchain. Magic Eden, the leading NFT marketplace on Solana, is fast catching up to OpenSea.

In the last 7 days, OpenSea saw a total of 149,488 unique traders, where Magic Eden saw 101,349 unique traders. The popularity of collections, such as Okay Bears, DeGods, and now Yoots, has also helped to increase the popularity of the blockchain and bring new demand to the market.

This demand for the digital asset for trading activities has been the biggest driver of its recovery. If the momentum holds up, then SOL is likely to test $40 before the weekend is over.
